Even though those glasses cost me $300 a few years ago, and it would cost $90 just to buy a replacement temple (plus labor to replace it),these only cost $27.90, and I got a second back-up pair for $12.95. How can this be? It's a great site called ZenniOptical. They have glasses for dirt cheap, some as low as $8. Then you just add $5 for most upgrades, like anti-glare coating, tinting, and fitted sunshades. Shipping is only $5, no matter how many you order. The only catch is that since they are made in China it takes 2-4 weeks for them to arrive. So the best plan is to order them before you need them, at least a back-up pair. (And who can't afford a back-up pair at $8?) Nathan's arrived in a month because he had so many upgrades, but mine came in just over 2 weeks! We both like the rimless glasses (which are the most expensive, wherever you go) but they also have many other kinds, so if you don't go rimless your glasses would cost even less than mine! If you have time to wait, this is the perfect place to get your glasses. The blogs that first told me about it touted it as a great place to get glasses for kids that usually break them. But for us it is a great place to get glasses for grown-ups whose kids usually break them! (She's scored three pairs now. Strangely, the cheaper glasses hold up better than the more expensive ones.)
